Apply Step 1 through the full lash length after shield placement, then monitor closely rather than relying on the clock alone the tips are the oldest part of the lash hair and may be more porous or previously processed, so they can respond faster than the root or mid-lengths. After around 2 minutes, wipe the product from the tips to reduce their exposure time while Step 1 continues working on the root and mid-lengths.

Use lash condition, not just time, to guide processing:

• Very fine lashes: 4–5 minutes
• Fine or tinted lashes: 5–7 minutes
• Natural, healthy lashes: 7–10 minutes
• Coarse, healthy lashes: 10–12 minutes
• Max time is 15mins

These timings are a guideline only. Particularly coarse or resistant lashes may occasionally need longer; always assess how the lash is responding throughout rather than relying on the clock alone. Once processing is complete, remove Step 1 fully before applying Step 2; any residue left behind can interfere with proper neutralisation. We recommend using a damp cotton bud to remove any remaining product before Step 2.

• Timing by the clock alone. Processing time depends on lash condition, not just minutes on a timer — always check how the lash is responding.
• Skipping the lash and eye assessment. Choosing a shield and processing time without first assessing lash length, direction, density and condition can lead to an uneven or unsuitable result.
• Sizing the shield the traditional way. For C-Lift, aim for the natural lashes to reach approximately 60 to 70% of the way up the shield, rather than the approximately 90% often used in traditional lash lift sizing.
• Treating the full lash as one zone. The tips are older and more porous than the root and mid-lengths, so full-length application still needs section-by-section monitoring.
• Leaving Step 1 residue behind. Step 1 must be fully removed before Step 2 is applied — residue left on the lash can interfere with proper neutralisation.
• Attempting Korean or powder-assisted techniques before mastering the fundamentals. Advanced C-Lift techniques build on core lash lift skills — assessment, placement, timing and neutralisation — not instead of them.
